Living on Earth

Putting the Public on Public Radio

Living on Earth, has spent 14 years gathering your stories to create a weekly show of “Sound Journalism for the Planet” on public radio.

Now, it’s your turn. Tell us your story about your place, your experiences and feelings about the natural world we all share, and send it to us in a brief recording.

We’ll tell you how to make a recording, which could be as simple as picking up the telephone.

A selection of stories and excerpts of stories will be chosen for production and posted online and may be broadcast. There is nothing to buy - this is not a contest and there are no winners or losers. This is simply a call for self-expression from those who share our deep interest in the environment and the relation with it. We leave it to your creativity to find the way to best express yourself, though thinking about these basic categories may help:

Join the Chorus of Whistleblowers
We’re all ears to hear the untold truth about polluters. Remember that truthtelling requires fair and accurate reporting that gives all sides of the story.

Pitching In
Who’s making a positive difference in your local ecology?

No Place Like Home
What’s that special place you call home? Will your children’s children be able to live there as you did?

What do we want to hear? Creative storytellers sharing engaging, original stories expressing things that touch our hearts. Also, audio quality is important. All submissions volunteered grant non-exclusive rights to Living on Earth/World Media Foundation to use the material in any manner we deem appropriate.
